Sundown Script

In a near-future America, justice has been outsourced to a machine.

After being wrongly convicted of a cybercrime he didn’t commit, James McGee , a gifted but disillusioned young Black man,  is sentenced under a radical new rehabilitation experiment: The Sundown Protocol. Administered by AI and sanctioned by a corrupt justice system, the program promises redemption through simulation, but offers no mercy.

James is dropped into a simulated 1950s “sundown town,” an eerie, idyllic nightmare frozen in time and patrolled by synthetic enforcers. The catch? He must survive until sunrise,  three nights in a row, or his real body will die from induced cardiac failure. The system claims this "tough love" approach weeds out guilt. But James knows the deck is stacked.

Each night becomes a psychological gauntlet where racial horror, algorithmic bias, and uncanny nostalgia intertwine. Haunted by AI-generated ghosts of American apartheid and hunted by surveillance predators disguised as townsfolk, James must outwit a system designed to make him break.

But something in James refuses to die quietly.

Sundown is a high-concept, tech-noir horror rooted in Black survival and speculative justice. Inspired by the legacy of Jim Crow and the rise of AI governance, it poses a chilling question: What happens when the system learns your fears  and then feeds on them?
